Additional Training Opportunities

Ham Radio License

For Pleasant Hill CERT volunteers who have been considering upgrading your hand held radio communications capability from low power, off-the-shelf, walkie-talkies to a higher power ham radio, you can sign up for a class that will prepare you to take and pass the Technician’s or beginners exam to become a licensed ham radio operator.

Ham radio operators are crucial in a major emergency!

Local classes that prepare you for the test are currently held on Zoom by volunteers from the Mt. Diablo Amateur Radio Club (MDARC). The next class is:

Each Tuesday, Aug. 3 – Oct. 5, 2021 (10 sessions)
Held online via Zoom.
