NW Area Meeting

6:30PM to 9:30PM.
Our meeting will focus on FRS/GMRS radio usage, including basics of operation, more advanced aspects such as use of subchannels, and simple communication protocol.  We will also review repeater usage, especially as it relates to the relay station at Paso Nogal.  Relay communications was an issue at our April exercise and using a repeater at the relay station should improve the situation.  Dirk Bridgedale will be at the meeting to share his expertise on these subjects.  In addition, there will be opportunities for you to interact with Dirk with any questions regarding how to operate your FRS or GMRS radio if you have one.  I encourage you to attend even if you don’t currently own an FRS or GMRS radio since you may be needed to operate a “loaner” from our NW equipment cache.  Loaners will be available at the meeting so everyone can have hands-on experience with a radio at the meeting.
