On Monday, January 9th, 18 CERT volunteers gathered at the Pleasant Hill Corporation Yard to fill empty bags with sand. The previous week of atmospheric rivers brought plenty of flooding, and with another week of storms starting, bags were desperately needed.

We split into two teams. Each team consisted of two bag preppers, one bag filler, one bag hauler, and at least three folders-and-stackers. Working assembly-line style was efficient and quick. The slowest part was waiting while the Corp Yard workers replenished the sand. Maybe next time they’ll give us a mountain to start!
